I've been weight training for 7 years but started working with her in January because I needed to dial in and crush some strength goals. But what I got was SO much more than that!! I got a life long friend and number one cheerleader in all things life. Our heart to hearts went far beyond the gym and weight training and she challenged me to be who I am with no apologies or regrets. This was no quick fix and takes time and dedication and habits I've engrained the past 7 years, but with Jess in my corner
constantly cheering me on and challenging me, she was what I needed to surprise myself on what I could do and still accomplish...
So much so that she challenged me to run our very first half marathon together and coached me through the process!"

I've learned that it's not about perfection or motivation, it's about dedication and consistency. Fuelling your body with nutrient dense food and moving your body makes all the difference (obviously). I used to dread the gym and now it's where I feel the strongest and at peace. I don’t have self-regulation intuitive eating abilities and getting a coach who taught me tracking and macros helped me find ways to work around that. I knew I needed the accountability and guidance to get going and be consistent. I had seen results from Carly and Amanda among others and knew how much they enjoyed working with you. I was hesitant to make that financial decision but I think you sold me on our first call! You were so kind and supportive through some less than perfect weeks where others may have just been hard ass military style about it. You read my needs well. ❤️ It’s a guide for workouts, nutrition and lifestyle, but it’s a human who is meeting you where you are at and helping you navigate those big feelings and barriers around perfection and goals. I think we are a great fit with each other and I loved it. You really helped me create lasting change vs complete a challenge and then go back to bad habits. Or binge and then diet… You helped me lose over 40 lbs, gain strength and walk a lot of steps. But more than that you helped me shift my mindset and create lasting habits that will help me continue to meet goals and navigate life.”

It started out that the main reason was the infertility. We knew our next steps were IVF and I wanted to get my health really on track before taking that jump. [...] I had never hired a coach before, but I was looking to do something serious. I had interviewed with a couple that to me didn’t feel like a good fit, but Courtney posted about you and it got me interested and then it was a great fit in the end. [...] I really liked the support that you provided to be able to learn how to navigate food and fitness during all these life things that WILL come up. [...] I got PREGNANT!!! 12 weeks mom-bod transformation: I'm super proud of my progress after working with @jessica.dawn.bourne. Before working with Jess, I had a very unhealthy relationship with food and was super self conscious of my body. Jess helped coach me into eating MORE food than I was and fuelling my body and building muscle. I want my daughters to grow up with a healthy body image and to love their bodies so I wanted to set that example for them. The difference in these photos is 15 pounds, a lot of hard work, muscle gained, improved mental health and a huge self confidence boost. I wasn’t seeing results. I had been going to the gym for 2 years. I was gaining weight but I thought it was muscle. I lacked nutritional knowledge. I just thought if I ate more the more muscle I would gain. Little did I know I was gaining fat and I knew I wanted to lose weight. My cousin had recommended you. I also liked that you were on the island and also worked at island health like me. Just different jobs of course. So it helped me to know someone who works in health care and may have a crazy schedule like me could keep up with their fitness goals. That you looked at what I was tracking and gave me workouts. That I was able to text anytime almost and get a reasonable response. It was great. I learned a lot about nutrition and nutritional dense foods. Balanced meals, prepping and planning is key to success. If I had any questions they would always be answered. Knowledge of nutrition, that getting steps in is important, being hydrated and getting sleep. To eat more veggies and fruit. Prepping and planning meals is essential for success.

Working with Jess is like having your BFF fan girl and a total wealth of knowledge all rolled into one. She always shoots you straight, never sugar coats things & always has your best interest and goals in mind. She has helped me break through so many physical and mental blocks.
I genuinely think I wouldn’t be where I am in my health journey without her. Forever grateful I took the plunge and made the investment in myself.
